David Linstrom

David Linstrom
David Linstrom, born in New Zealand, begun his career as Eletronic Technician in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. His first work on Strategy was back in his Business College, where he received 1st Class Honors Degree for his dissertation on Strategy.

Due to his impressiver academic record, David was hired as a Strategy Consultant by Gentia Software from the UK (today part of Boston¡¯s Rocket Sofware), the first company in the world to release Scorecard Automation & Delivery Technology. David was one of the first consultants in the world who worked full time implementing Strategy Frameworks supported by a Balanced Scorecard Software. His record includes implementation in several corporations and governments, and also team develoment with worldwide performance improvement software companies. David¡Çs result driven performace led him to the position of National Manager for Gentia Software in New Zealand.

During his carreer, David realized that most organizations didn¡¯t reach anywhere near their full potential. And the reason behind it, was because they simply didn¡¯t understand what strategy was.

David words: "this situation has always struck me as a terrible waste of human potential "¡¦ because most people he had worked with have been bright, positive and passionate about improving their organization. However, in reality, very little (or nothing) gets done.

This was one of the reasons that drove David into steping out of Gentia and into developing the Practical Strategy¢â Framework¡¦ His experience with Business Strategy and Consulting, alied to the knowledge he has acquired Developing and Improving Scorecards and Performance Systems, plus 2 years of full dedication and fine tuning, brought up "Practical Strategy¢â , at last a HOW TO guide for Strategy", a step by step guide that shows how to turn strategy into action. The main purpose of this framework would be to help in a practical, objective and simple way, the people wishing to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in their Organizations... People like YOU !!

Since Practical Strategy¢â was created, David had begun to work as an Independent Consultant supporting its implementation in organizations of countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Cingapure, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tailand and China. David is also a Business Coach, and directly assists CEOs and VPs who wish to build a Strategy focused Organization. Nowadays, implementation and execution of Practical Strategy¢â under David¡¯s advise had begun also in countries like England, Germany, USA, and Brazil (with Practical Strategy Brazil, the first international consulting partner).

Currently, the implementation and execution of Practical Strategy¢â has changed the way several companies and organizations are managing their business. Large corporations, small and medium size companies, non-profit and governments, they¡Çve all seen that it¡Çs possible to engage people and to really execute strategy.

The success of Practical Strategy¢â, had created also for David, a demand for Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and MBA Classes, where he deliver topics on Business Strategy, Balanced Scorecard, EVA (Economic Value Added), Client Driven Strategies, and Practical Strategy¢â, among others... Such demand has taken David to deliver several lectures and workshops every year in Asia and Europe, besides his own New Zealand and also Australia. David was also a Columnist for CIO Magazine, in New Zealand.

Don Hill, from CIO magazine writes about David Linstrom:

- A strategist¡¯s strategy by Don Hill (08/01/2002) - CIO NZ

During the last 3 years, David had also been the Chairman of the New Zealand Strategic Management Society - an organization that spans academic research organizations and applied management action - promoting clearer and more effective thinking amongst business leaders.
